HD 149989也称为天坛座V872,是在南天星座天坛座的一颗变星[3],位于该星座的西方与矩尺座的边界附近。天坛座V872是变星名称,而HD 149989是 亨利·德雷珀目录 中的标识符。这是一颗暗淡的恒星,接近肉眼可见的下限,其视星等在6.30左右波动[3]。根据视差的量测,它距离太阳167光年,并以46km/s的径向速度远离太阳[7]。
这颗恒星是一颗A型主序星,恒星分类为A9V[4],2016年对剑鱼座γ型这类恒星的调查发现了一类F1 V nn m-4,其中“nn”表示由于快速旋转而“模糊”谱线,“m-4”表示是一颗贫金属恒星,其金属线与A7类相匹配[5]。这是一颗已确认的变星,属于剑鱼座γ型的变星,周期为0.42658天[3]。它的年龄约为11亿年[8],并且以136公里/秒的投影旋转速度旋转[9]。
